At South America Motorbike Tours, we have chosen the BMW GS models, because they have practically never failed us; whether on a one-week trip for our local clientel or fulfilling the lifetime time dream of an enthiusist who has come from many thousands of miles away. The "GS" is not just able to handle almost everything; it is actually built to do so. The easy handling, supreme touring suitability, off-road potential and comfort for rider and pillion passenger, there's simply no other motorcycle which does it better.

Our fleet consists of:

BMW F650GS: 

The all-new 2009 F 650 GS offers more power and more thrills per mile than ever before in the form of a 71 hp, torque-filled, twin cylinder engine. From touring, to off-road exploring, to sporty handling on the tarmac, this middleweight machine, based on the much anticipated F 800 GS, does anything and everything the ambitious motorcyclist could ever want. With a rigid steel tube trellis frame, it's sturdy. With a double-sided swing arm and chain drive, it's reliable. And with a low seat height and narrow design, it's ideal for darting through trees or traffic.

Cast aluminum wheels and telescopic forks keep the ride smooth and precise at all times. Throw in disengageable ABS and even Tire Pressure Monitoring as options, and you get a road-hungry, enduro-styled motorcycle that can tackle anything in its path and beg for more.

F800GS: The F800GS it's a lean modercycle. It's ready to tackle everything from dual sport rides in the woods or desert to long-haul adventure touring. With a lightweight design and eye-opening power, the F800GS is the most off-road oriented GS ever built. A parallel twin engine with 85 charging horses and 62 lb/feet of torque give it startling speed and breathtaking acceleration. Throw in a dry weight of just 392 lbs, six-speed gear box, switchable ABS, wide foot rests and a 4.2 gallon tank located under the seat for a low center of gravity, and you get a enduro light enough for amazing handling no matter where you're headed. If you want all the capabilities of the GS in a lighter, tighter, totally aggressive package, the destined-to-be-a-classic F800GS is your ride.

BMW R1200GS: The "GS" is able to handle almost everything, supreme touring suitability, off-road potential and comfort for rider and pillion passenger, there's simply no other motorcycle which does it better.
The BMW R1200GS is acknowledged by many experts as the best all-round road bike ever made. In 2004 the GS was awarded the prestigious International Bike of the Year trophy, an annual balloting of motorcycle magazines from around the world.
It is ideal for the larger rider and /or couples.

BMW R1200 ADVENTURE: You could say this particualar model has left its signature on the motorcycling world.

In part, this is due to the range of features that have become almost as legendary as the bike itself.

On this machine you can take potholes with 20 mm more clearance than on the R 1200 GS. Perfect ergonomics, optimum gearing for every terrain. and a chassis which - whether fully loaded or not - will allow you to thrill your pillion passenger as well as surprise anyone ahead of you.

For the R 1200 GS Adventure, torque was given higher priority than output in line with practical considerations. And you can feel it. 120 Nm at the peak at 6000 rpm.
Also ideal for the larger rider and /or couples.

We have purposely selected the 1200 model and 800 models as opposed to the smaller BMW on/off road bikes as we believe the benefits of these models clearly outweigh any perceived disadvantages such as weight and height.
All our bikes are fitted with heated handlebar grips, panniers, ABS anti lock braking, cross spoke wheels and tire pressure control. Also we have top/ or soft bag and side cases for long trips or tank bags for shorter rides. For couples we have designed a high quality backrest which provide superior comfort for the pillion passenger.
